The CHILD Learning Path

A book teaches once. A framework should teach continuously. CHILD Framework named five traits every child has and every adult unlearns — this is the roadmap for turning that framework into something practiced, not just read.

This path isn’t live yet. It’s the architecture for what’s being built — module by module, trait by trait, each one scoped to function as a standalone learning unit, laid out with the same rigor as a finished curriculum before the platform is.

The seven modules

  1. Module 0Live

    Diagnostic — Where Did the Child Go

    Find out which of the five traits you’ve unlearned most.

    Covers

    The psychology of unlearning — how schooling, career incentives, and social fear systematically suppress each trait; how to read a Child Index score without defensiveness.

    You practice

    Take the CHILDex assessment and map your results against the six modules ahead.

    By the end

    You know precisely which trait to start with, and why guessing would have wasted your time.

  2. Module 1Outlined

    Curiosity

    Ask before you filter.

    Covers

    The difference between performative curiosity and structural curiosity — asking because you genuinely don’t know, not to look engaged.

    You practice

    Take a stalled problem and generate only questions, no solutions, for a fixed period — then find the one you almost didn’t let yourself ask.

    By the end

    You can ask an unqualified question in a professional room without pre-apologising for it.

  3. Module 2Outlined

    Heuristics

    Test the rule before you trust it.

    Covers

    How children build heuristics through fast, direct trial, versus how adults inherit them secondhand and stop questioning them.

    You practice

    Trace one recurring decision back to the rule behind it — was it tested, or just handed down.

    By the end

    One fewer inherited rule running your decisions unexamined.

  4. Module 3Outlined

    Imagination

    Design the ideal before you check what’s possible.

    Covers

    Why constraint-first thinking quietly caps an idea’s ceiling before it’s even formed.

    You practice

    A reversed-brief exercise: design the unconstrained ideal for a real, limited problem, then work backward to what’s buildable.

    By the end

    A version of the idea bigger than the one you would have started with.

  5. Module 4Outlined

    Laconic

    Say it the way a child would.

    Covers

    Why complexity is often mistaken for depth, and simplicity for a lack of it.

    You practice

    Compress a real pitch or piece of writing to one sentence a child would understand, then rebuild it keeping only what earns its place.

    By the end

    You can say the essential thing in one breath, and spot when you’re padding instead of clarifying.

  6. Module 5Outlined

    Deductive

    Follow the evidence, even when it’s inconvenient.

    Covers

    The difference between a conclusion and a diplomatically-managed opinion.

    You practice

    Write, in one line with no hedging, what the evidence already points to on a decision you’ve been sitting on.

    By the end

    You can state a conclusion you’ve been avoiding, in plain terms, to the person who needs to hear it.

  7. Module 6Outlined

    Integration — The CHILD Loop

    Run the full loop on one real problem.

    Covers

    How Curiosity feeds Heuristics feeds Imagination feeds Laconic feeds Deductive, and back again.

    You practice

    Apply the complete loop to a live problem, start to finish — then retake the CHILDex to see what moved.

    By the end

    You’re not applying five separate ideas. You’re running one loop, on demand, on anything.
